Sir Geoff Hurst wasn’t just part of England’s 1966 World Cup–winning team — he scored a hat-trick in the final. Today, many of his teammates have since died from Alzheimer’s or dementia. Sir Geoff is now one of the only players who can still remember that historic day.

To preserve that memory, Sir Geoff’s recollection of winning the World Cup was captured and permanently recorded on the blockchain, in collaboration with leading Web3 artist Reeps One. The work was later exhibited at W1 Curates in Soho.

“MEMORIES ARE
EPHEMERAL, THEY ARE LIKE SMOKE, AND ARE VERY HARD TO KEEP”

Reeps One

“USING OUR VOICES IS ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL ACTS IN ALL OF NATURE”
